Escape room: Captain’s secrets

Escape room: Captain’s secrets

One of the new features of the city is the historically themed escape room in the basement of the Hiemer House. Where in the historical playground everyone will face the coldness of a fantastic logical and historical adventure.

An escape room where the game keeps you hostage!

The game room takes you back to the past, when after a long, persistent resistance the Alba

Regia broke under the unstoppable Turkish army’s overpower. The officers who have survived

the slaughter are taken hostage into Captain Ferenc Wathay’s Parlor, until they get information about their punishment. Until this point everything happens as it did in the past- Ferenc Wathay the Végvár warrior, painter and songwriter was for a while the vice-captain of Székesfehérvár after in 1602 for a while the city was recovered from Turkish rule. But when Fehérvár castle fell together with his fellow officers, he was put in a difficult situation… At this point the players can rewrite history. Wathay got injured more than 400 years ago and got captured by the Turkish army, but here, at Hiemer House’s cold basement the adventurers are given 60 minutes to get out of the capture. Luckily the captain left some hidden notes which can help the players rewrite the history. What item, hidden sign or detail will be helping them? What is the message, that if they find out would help them qualify? A painting on the wall? A chest on the floor? A candle perhaps? If every puzzle peace is found than you will find out what was Wathay’s secret…

Csitáry G. Emil Swimming pool and lido

Csitáry G. Emil Swimming pool and lido

The Csitáry G. Emil swimming pool and lido was inaugurated by Mayor Csitáry G. Emil in 1934. Much has changed since then: The current indoor pool hall has a changing room system with a capacity of 640 people (new cabins, lockers and completely renovated toilet and shower blocks), a 21x50 m competition pool, a 16x8,5 m training pool and a 640 seat grandstand.

Swimming pool

The swimming pool has 2 pools, one of which is and 8-track competition pool and the other is a learning pool. The swimming pool gives place to many swimming and synchronized swimming competitions, pentathlon rounds and water polo training camps. In the basement, we welcome our guests with three saunas, which include two splashing pools. Massage service is also available in the swimming pool, in addition to competitive sports, more sports clubs are waiting for those who want to play sports and relax to spend their leisure time usefully. The 2x18-position sanitary unit also become energy-efficient thanks to the vandal-proof shower taps. In the sanitary units, all sanitary facilities have been replaced and the sewer system has been completely replaced.  By touching the sensor on the wall in the new water blocks a 20-second-long water flow of 36 ° C degree starts flowing, which is provided centrally. We have designed three showers for families in the pool area. So that, for example, children can wash up in the pool area at the end of the swimming session or lesson. Parents and relatives accompanying them do not have to go to the showers with them.

Lido

By the summer of 2018, the development and renovation of the beach was also completed. Almost all the paving, utilities and green areas have been renewed, but new pools have also been built. A three-slide pool and a new adventure pool with a hot tub and a flowing corridor await the bathers, and the children’s pool has been supplemented with a wet playground (spray park). In addition, new benches, pergolas and 20 sun loungers are available for your relaxation.

Lake Velence

Lake Velence

Lake Velence is the third largest lake in Hungary. One-third of its surface is covered by reed. It is one of the warmest lakes in Europe because of the sunshine and its shallow waters with an average depth of 1.5 metres: the temperature of the water can reach 26-28 ºC.

The excellent water of Lake Velence, rich in minerals (sodium and magnesium) can refresh and regenerate your exhausted body. Apart from bathing it is also suitable for the relieving of rheumatic pains. Lovers of nature can watch the exceptionally rich avian world of the lake at the Dinnyés Bird-watching Spot. It is one of the most frequented holiday resorts in Hungary thanks to its natural and geographical advantages and the regulation of the lake.

The “Lake of sunshine” incites us to bathe, to go punting and to sunbathe. The shallow sandy lakesides on the southern part of the lake provide safe bathing for children. Those looking for active relaxation can try surfing, mini-golf or the water-ski and wakeboard course. Children and those water-sports lovers can choose from lakesides with shallow or deep water.

Dragon-boating, canoe trips, scheduled boats between Agárd, Gárdony and Pákozd, wakeboard, surf for the beginners and the advanced. You can rent boats or sailing-boats. At pre-arranged times there are night-trips into the vast reed where the Moon will be your guide. Cycle round the lake on the newly-built, 31-kilometre-long bicycle path! It is a trip full of attractions and experiences in only a couple of hours. The more adventurous can go on a quad trip around the lake and fight in a paintball battle.

Along the reed huge carps, crucian carps and predatory fish can be caught. You can buy the permit for the region in fishing-equipment shops and tourist information offices.

Visit the first outdoor trampoline-park of Europe in Agárd! Jump City theme park is almost 2000 square metres big and has 8 different zones with more than 120 jumping-areas for holidaymakers and lovers of active entertainment.

Walking along the trail one can discover the flora and fauna of the former pond and marsh area and the development of different plant associations signalling the continuous filling up of the lake.

The habitats of the Zámoly Basin resembling the Great Plains can be discovered riding a covered wagon with comfortable seats for up to 20-25 people. This city is for royalty – and for school trips as well!

This city is for royalty – and for school trips as well!

Is it really historic, sacral, cultural, traditionalist, active and even interactive? Székesfehérvár can give something new and unique for all ages. Our city is a “mandatory” destination for school trips so we are prepared to welcome groups from schools. Variety and sophistication – high-level museum education!

The first trip must lead to the ruins of the former coronation basilica, to the National Memorial Site and to the archaeological exhibition of the King St. Stephen Museum. Following this we can begin to discover the city which will be exciting and full of experiences with our unique offers.

For primary schools we offer an adventure to the fabulous world of a special museum. The unbelievably rich collection of the Hetedhét (Behind the beyond) Toy Museum not only allows us to catch a glimpse into the original bourgeois milieu but also takes students to a real dream world. The toys of the girls are completed by different puzzles and board games while the boys can find soldiers, ships and engines. The drawers under the display cabinets conceal exciting tasks; games and enthusiasm guaranteed!

For secondary schools we offer a little history of wars. In the Garrison-Historical Collection of Relics an unrivalled exhibition tells us the most important military events of this county from the 1848-49 war of independence up to this present day.

Our strength is museum education. The class can choose the most suitable from our various exciting and creative programmes in the areas of art, history and tradition. We recommend the programmes of the Korona (Crown) Park for all ages amongst them the most favourite one the Living Illustrated Chronicle elaborating on the history of the city. The interactive street theatre tells an entertaining story about the historical events that are part of the local and Hungarian legends following the scenes found in the Illustrated Chronicles.

The Korona (Crown) Park with its nearly four-acre wooded area is situated in the vicinity of the Rose Gardens and the wonderful Punting pond with more than fifty wooden toys on seven playgrounds. And the extra is: a treasure-hunt with a smartphone, coronations and battles in digital costumes at the Kinect games-corner. It is worth timing the programmes so that one can get from the Toy Museum to the Korona Park and back with the sight-seeing street-train.

The sight-seeing street-train leaves from the Városháza (Town Hall) Square, by the Orb, every hour and takes its approximately forty-minute round in the city centre. One of places it stops is the Korona Park.

If you are visiting with your family you must finish the day in the Enchanter in Basa Street where small performances, puppet shows, slide shows and films, audio-visual evenings and interactive family activities entertain all who visit. Every evening at 6.00pm there is an evening tale!
