Marcell Jankovics’ exhibition “Faith, Hope and Cartoon”
2025. August 14. - 2025. October 19.
With a grand exhibition, Hungary joins the events of the 2025 Holy Year, announced under the motto “Pilgrims of Hope.” The works of Marcell Jankovics were presented in Rome, at the Vatican, in the Palazzo della Cancelleria, as part of the official opening events of the Apostolic See. Following this, for the first time in Hungary, the expanded and large-scale exhibition will be on view in Székesfehérvár, at the King Saint Stephen Museum, from August 14, 2025.
The exhibition will be presented in six consecutive rooms in the main building of the King Saint Stephen Museum. The sequence of the rooms—Faith, Hope, Pilgrimage—is thematically connected to the message of the Holy Year. The exhibition showcases ensembles of works by Marcell Jankovics, combining moving and still images, installations, as well as light, scent, and sound experiences. These creations are complemented by selected, relevant, or intriguing objects from the historical, archaeological, and ethnographic collections of the King Saint Stephen Museum, resulting in unique pairings.
The exhibition is available in three languages: Hungarian, English, and Italian.
