Mór Wine Pass
Mór is home to the Ezerjó (thousand-good) so whichever way we set out to discover the town it will be impossible to avoid this wine. But then again it is better not to avoid it as we will not only have an opportunity to taste award-winning wines but we can also find out about the traditions of the local culture of wine.
The characteristic wine of the Mór Wine region is white taking up 99% of the area where wine is produced. Ezerjó – which is now a Hungaricum – has become the main type of vine in this region after the phylloxera disease of the 19th century. In the Bozóky Vinery and Wine Museum the vine-cultivation and wine-culture traditions, the wine-making tools and the notable species of the Mór wine region are presented along with the tasting of award-winning wines.
In the Hétkúti Wellness Hotel and Riding Park we can discover the homeland of Ezerjó in a horse and carriage after wandering round the riding-hall and tasting the specialities of the Rider Restaurant. If you purchase a wine pass for Mór in the Touringform Office in certain cellars you will be able to fill up your complimentary wine glass. Visit at least five wine cellars, collect five stamps and you will receive the certificate of being a “Friend of the Mór wine region”!
