World War II Memorial

World War II Memorial

The tower of the Cistercian church was hit by a bomb in  The World War II and its bell fell to the ground. The monument symbolises a crater of a bomb with the original, damaged bell in the middle.

The bell of the Cistercian Church fell off in the World  War II. but the arch of the entrance hall stopped it.  The broken bell could be taken out only in 1995. The broken bell has became the part of the victims of Fehérvár in the World War II Memorial designed by Mária Lugossy sculptor. Its appearance is unusual forming a crater and a lava flow.
