2016. augusztus 16.
Musica Sacra is one of the main event of the Royal Days which offers great experience for classical music lovers. At the Székesfehérvár National Memorial Site this performance in the summer evening enters you into a magical atmosphere.
The scene, the setting and quality content create such an atmosphere that can only be experienced here. This year we can hear Stabat Mater from the Kossuth and Liszt Prize-winning opera singer, Andrea Rost. Don't miss it!
During the Coronation Festive Plays a theatrical and a musical production is performed here. The event commemorates the great figures of the Hungarian history related to the 20th August festivities. There were 36 kings crowned in the church in Székesfehérvár that was built by King St. Stephen (István) and where he and his son, St. Emeric (Imre) were buried as well as a further 14 kings after them. Every year, in mid-August, on the spot of the former coronation basilica the biggest outdoor stage in Hungary is constructed so that in this special setting the significant turning points of the history of this nation are presented with special performances. The Ceremonial play of the coronation presents the life, legend and coronations of the kings who were crowned in Székesfehérvár amongst a grandiose setting with modern lighting and visual technology. The Musica Sacra continues this elevated mood amongst the same setting with the performers of the greatest stage in the world.
